NWOR has been involved since 1978 in the design and development of a series of high performance Toyota camshafts for 20/22R series engines. NWOR has sold several thousand Toyota camshafts over the years. All NWOR camshafts have been engineered and tested for maximum torque, increased horsepower, and good fuel economy.

Oversize tires, gearing, excessive loads, and engine modifications all make proper camshaft selection essential. The correct camshaft ensures a properly performing vehicle in the RPM range you most often drive your Toyota.

Most of NWOR 's performance camshafts use a split-duration design (i.e. 250°/260°) that performs as advertised. All NWOR EFI series camshafts have computer designed camshaft profiles with strategically located lobe centers. This creates high manifold vacuum and allows the camshaft to operate within the parameters of Toyota's factory EFI computer. Our high performance 21806 EFI camshaft really performs on trucks with the proper gear/tire combination.

All NWOR camshafts are manufactured in the U.S. using high quality, imported Japanese blank camshafts which insure longevity and compatibility with Toyota's hard, carbide-faced rocker arms.

Over the years we've tested many "Toyota" cams from the three leading V-8 camshaft manufacturers that primarily produce high-performance V8 camshafts We've also tested cams ordered from a couple of Toyota catalogs. We found two manufacturers selling the same camshaft grind for both EFI and carbureted engines.

All camshafts had high duration (280°+) which is not recommended for low and mid-range torque gains. This also causes poor engine vacuum and a rough idle. Shorter-lift camshafts in the 250°-260° duration create high engine vacuum, a smoother idle and lots of bottom-end torque in the 2000-4500 RPM range where most Toyota owners operate their truck's engines.

NOTE: One Toyota catalog leads customers to believe that two camshafts will work for all applications properly! This sure solves extensive and expensive testing and inventory cost!
